Our Story

Grip Training Products For Athletes

As a long-time wrestler (middle school/high school), I was shocked to realize that transitioning into Jiu-Jitsu was murder on my grips. When grappling in Jiu-Jitsu, my grip was always the first place to fatigue and I quickly realized I was not alone.

I tried to work on my grip strength using normal workouts, but it just wasn’t enough and didn’t seem to make an improvement. I looked around for a good way to train and tried a few products on the market, but nothing really felt like it was working.

That’s when decided I was going to create a workout tool to assist in growing my actual functional grip strength.

Using my professors and fellow BJJ buddies, I hit upon the idea of using torn gi’s to make countless makeshift prototypes. These countless design prototypes would eventually become “Flo”, the flagship FloGrips design. Using Flo, one can use grips used in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while weight training, to “Grow Your Grip.”

After a while, customers requested a more spider-guard-specific design. This led to more trial and error and prototype designs, resulting in what would eventually become “Spider Flo.” Its unique design allows a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner to practice spider guard on their own, and it works in gym workouts as well.

Athletes in such fields as CrossFit, tennis, weightlifting, and rock climbing can all see significant performance gains by working with FloGrips products. So, if you are like me and countless other athletes who want a product that actually improves your grip strength in the functional way it actually works, FloGrips are for you.
